Welcome to the official website of the Coalition of Arizona Nurses in Advanced
Practice. This is a grassroots effort to enhance the unity and communication
of Advanced Practice Nurses in the state of Arizona. Everyday we render
medical services to all types of populations. We assess, diagnose, and
treat illness in collaboration with physicians. We ask for fair representation
and fair reimbursement for the services we render. Below are links that
further explain our cause...
| COMMUNICATION WITH EACH OTHER | We are becoming an information depository and exchange for documents to assist Arizona APNs. We wish to offer an area where all APNs can get legislative and legal information related to NP practice. Continue communicating with each other via CAZNAP listserv to discuss problems and solutions related to obtaining contracts and payments. |
| COMMUNICATION WITH GOVERNING BODIES AND POLITICAL ORGANIZATIONS | This includes taking consensus from the group members about important
issues and presenting CAZNAP’s views as one voice representing a large
number of APNs. |
| COMMUNICATION WITH PAYORS | We will meet with key parties in each insurance company on behalf of CAZNAP to gain acceptance of APNs as Primary Care Providers. We want to see APNs allowed to officially fill the role that they currently fill as “unacknowledged” and unreimbursed providers. This process requires both education of the payers regarding what we already do for patients, and challenges of the current policies that exclude us from acknowledgment and payment. |
| COLLABORATION WITH PROFESSIONAL INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS | We desire to work with existing Advanced Practice professional groups on our common goals. This is already happening on a national level. United we stand, divided we no longer have a profession! Currently, CAZNAP and its mission is recognized by the Arizona Nurse’s Association NP Council. We also have leaders at national levels who read the listserv, from organizations including American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and American College of Nurse Practitioners. It helps to have them available, they keep us for reinventing the wheel. |
